Juneteenth Worship

Juneteenth Celebration at First Church

June 19th, “Juneteenth”, or “Freedom Day”, is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers, led by Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger, landed in Galveston, Texas with the news that the war had ended and that all slaves were free.

Join us for special worship services on June 19 at 9am and 11am this day that celebrates this new Federal Holiday!

Gather in person in our Meetinghouse or online on our YouTube channel.
