Get ready to “Stand Up, Lift Up” with AkronFCC at this year’s Akron Pride Day on Saturday, August 24! We’re thrilled to once again be part of the annual Pride Festival and March.

  • Time: March kicks off at 10am with a 0.6 mile walk

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: We need enthusiastic volunteers to help us throughout the day:

• Morning setup
• Booth shifts during the event
• Teardown at the end of the event
• WHAT VOLUNTEERS WILL DO: Your enthusiasm and energy are crucial in making this event a success! To create a vibrant and engaging experience for attendees, we ask that volunteers actively move around the booth, interact with visitors, and bring your infectious energy to every interaction. This is an opportunity for us to connect with our community and spread our message of inclusivity and love. 

• Interactive Booth Experiences: Engage with attendees through interactive games and activities designed to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
• Swag Distribution: Distribute fun giveaways that reflect our spirit of inclusion and celebration.
• Information Sharing: Educate visitors about our church’s mission of being open and affirming, welcoming everyone in a friendly and approachable manner.
• Sign-Up Opportunities: Encourage attendees to sign up for newsletters, events, or volunteer opportunities to stay connected with our community.
• SHIFTS
  • We’ll organize manageable shifts to keep everyone comfortable. Expect to be on your feet, moving around, and engaging with attendees.  Sign up here.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING & SIGN MAKING

• We’re requesting our volunteers attend the free Safe Space Ally held in the Fellowship Hall at AkronFCC on Saturday, August 10 from 9am to 11am. Sign up here.
• Booth training and sign making will be in the Upper Room on 8.21.24 at 5:45pm
  • At the training session, we will provide you with all the necessary details and guidance to ensure you feel prepared and confident in your role. 
  • We will delve into the details of each activity planned for the day.
