Backyard Conservation and the 50% Project

October 27 at 7pm via Zoom.

Famed Conservationist E.O. Wilson has proposed conserving 50% of the planet’s surface to avoid a cataclysmic extinction event as well as to protect the ecosystem services that give us clean air to breath and clean water to drink. At the present time, only 13% of Summit County is protected by parks and conservation easements. Come and learn what you can do in your own backyard to help Save Planet Earth!

Join us to hear from guest speaker Rob Curtis who serves as Supervisor of Ecological Resources for the Summit Metro Parks. In this role, Rob oversees all park inventories and assessments and manages most ecological restoration projects. Rob has a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from The Pennsylvania State University. His earliest memories include a fascination with wildlife and the outdoors – a fascination that continues today. He is a lifelong resident of the region and has a passion to protect and restore our natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations.

These talks are free and open to the public. We encourage you to invite others to attend this informative event online as we round out our 2021 Season of Creation.

Register to attend on October 27!
