We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and everyone attending is invited to participate in the Eucharist. Communion is comprised of gluten free bread and grape juice.
We gather in the Upper Room for this service.

Baptism & Communion
At AkronFCC, we joyfully celebrate two sacraments: Baptism and Communion.
These are open to all who gather with us.
To learn more about each ritual, please read below and contact us to discuss further.
Baptism
We believe baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality, affirming God’s love and embrace of an individual. It publicly declares one’s desire to live in relationship with God by becoming part of the church of Jesus Christ. We welcome both members and non-members to the baptism font, trusting that each family and individual will discern how best to live out their baptismal vows.
Before baptism, the family meets with a minister to discuss the vows and their faith journey. For an infant or younger child, the minister meets with the parents—either one in a single-parent household or both in a two-parent household. In other circumstances, the minister may meet with grandparents or guardians. For an older child or adult, the minister may have several meetings with the individual and request a period of discernment and study prior to baptism.

Holy Communion
We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month at both Sunday morning services, and everyone attending is invited to participate in the Eucharist. Communion is comprised of gluten free bread and grape juice.
At our 9:00 a.m. Worship service, Communion is served by Intinction year-round – those gathered are invited to take bread and dip it into the cup.
At our 11:00 a.m. Worship service from September to May, pieces of bread and small cups of juice are distributed. Once all are served, the community then eats and drinks together. From June to August, Communion is served by Intinction.
